Preheat the oven to 375 F. Brush melted butter liberally over the bottom of a 1.5 quart baking dish or casserole. Cover the bottom with 1/2 cup of cracker crumbs and cover with half the oysters. Season with a little salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Cover with another half cup of cracker crumbs and sprinkle with half the melted butter. Make another layer of the remaining oysters, season lightly, cover with the remaining crumbs and melted butter. Combine the oyster liquor, cream, and a dash of Tabasco sauce. Pour this over the layers. Top with buttered bread crumbs. Bake for 35 minutes.{$7e}(Original recipe for 4)
